The CODE SAFE Revolution: LC Distributors and AAAA – Successful Fight Against Vehicle Theft

The 2026 Australian Auto Aftermarket (AAAA) Expo, held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre from May 14–16, was more than just an industry event it was a powerful convergence of automotive professionals dedicated to advancing vehicle security. For LC Distributors P/L, trading as CODE SAFE Immobilisers, the exhibition was a resounding success, allowing them to showcase their proven vehicle security technology and form strong new partnerships across Australia and New Zealand.

The AAAA Expo: A New Stream of Revenue for Auto Electricians

The AAAA Expo is recognised as Australia’s largest aftermarket event, consistently bringing together leading suppliers, international trainers, and over 13,000 industry professionals. This year, the event brought together Auto Electricians from across Australia and New Zealand, all seeking new revenue streams and ways to adapt to the growing technological complexity of modern vehicles. LC Distributors seized this opportunity by exhibiting at Stand R06, where they met numerous certified and experienced Auto Electricians and offered them a chance to join the fight against vehicle theft in their territories.

Our approach is to support our trade partners. LC Distributors is solely a wholesaler, dedicated to importing and distributing CODE SAFE 12 & 24 VOLT keypad engine immobilisers throughout Australia and New Zealand. They strictly adhere to a “buy-and-install” policy, which means they do not sell directly to the public or over the counter. This exclusive business model protects their registered installers and helps them achieve significant margins and a new revenue stream that is shielded from online competition and price-based advertising.

LC Distributors made significant connections at the show, securing follow-up engagements with professionals such as Simon Molluso of Performance Plus Automotive, Bill from Fix Auto, and other promising installers, including Emmanuel, Steve, Michael, and Caz from Tungamah Garage. These interactions confirmed an enormous appetite among auto trade professionals to partner with a reliable supplier to combat the rising threat of car theft.

CODE SAFE IMMOBILISERS: The Critical Extra Layer of Protection

In an era where car theft is increasingly sophisticated often involving key fobs or scanning devices that bypass traditional security systems CODE SAFE offers a vital, affordable, and effective solution. The system functions as a secondary engine immobiliser, mandated by motor insurance in many countries worldwide. Its primary benefit to customers is providing an extra layer of protection and the priceless “Peace of Mind” when leaving any vehicle unattended.

The immobiliser is designed to stop thieves in their tracks. Even if a thief manages to gain access using the vehicle’s key, key fob, or by cracking the CANBUS system, the car remains immobilised. Furthermore, installing a secondary immobiliser like CODE SAFE can often lead to discounts on insurance premiums, providing an additional financial benefit to the owner.

How the CODE SAFE Immobiliser Works?

The core of the system is the CODE SAFE keypad engine immobiliser. It is compatible with all makes and models of vehicles, including challenging CANBUS systems, and works with both 12V and 24V engines, making it suitable for cars, trucks, bobcats, and excavators.

The system is armed in two ways: either automatically 30 seconds after the ignition is turned off, or manually by pressing and holding the STAR button.

To disarm the system and start the vehicle, the user must:

  1. Open the door, which illuminates the keypad.
  2. Enter their unique 4- to 6-digit personal code, then press the STAR button.
  3. The system disarms upon hearing two short beeps, allowing the engine to start.

If an incorrect code is entered, the keypad flashes, and four beeps are emitted. Crucially, three invalid attempts will block the keyboard for five to twenty minutes, ensuring the car remains immobilised. CODE SAFE’s layered defence system makes it a trusted, reliable deterrent.

LC Distributors P/L ensures that all their registered installers, who are accredited auto electricians, register every unit in a security-protocol database before installation. This database allows the installer to provide technical support, including overriding a malfunctioning keypad with the original master code over the phone after the customer confirms their details, ensuring continuous support and security.

Building Strong Relationships for a Safer Tomorrow

LC Distributors is committed to building a reliable supply and support ecosystem across Australia and New Zealand. By partnering exclusively with experienced auto electricians, the company helps combat vehicle theft and the resulting “opportunistic theft and joyriding,” which causes operational disruption and financial loss.

The successful outcome of the AAAA Expo, evidenced by the high volume of new installer inquiries and subsequent follow-up emails, confirms that the industry is ready to embrace security solutions that benefit both their businesses and the wider community. With dedicated technical support from Ross, CODE SAFE’s head technician, and a clear focus on trade exclusivity, LC Distributors is building strong relationships to help combat car theft across Australia and New Zealand. The AAAA show was a huge success, a major step forward in expanding the network and giving Australians and New Zealanders the peace of mind they deserve.
